Being pregnant is hard enough. Now, add the stress of trying to choose all of the baby products that you are going to need. It can be exhausting!
I am a first time mom. I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy in June. When I finally decided to create my baby registry, I was completely overwhelmed, to say the least. Aisles and aisles of baby products. I added so many things to my list that by the time I was finished, I had 4 or 5 pages worth of stuff! I deleted a bunch of items off of my list as I did some research. I have narrowed it down to my top 5 life saver baby products that we use to try and take some of the stress off of you when it comes time to purchasing items for your little one. Let’s get into this list!
1. Velcro Swaddle
These things literally saved my life!! I swaddled my son from birth in blankets but he still woke up every 2 to 3 hours at night. After about 2 months of this I was becoming so sleep deprived that it was hard for me to even function. One day, I was going through some of my baby shower gifts and found a pack of these velcro swaddles and my son was finally big enough to fit into them. That night, I kid you not, he slept through the WHOLE NIGHT! I seriously got the best sleep of my life that night.
Babies love to feel secure and in a womb like environment when they sleep. Swaddling does that for them. I recommend swaddling your baby from day one and using these velcro swaddles. It was a life saver baby product!!
2. Elephant Teething Toy
This toy is amazing! My son absolutely LOVES it. He played with the toy before he started teething but now that he is teething, he is obsessed with it. He chews on that thing like crazy and the best thing about it is that it’s made with NATURAL rubber and painted with non toxic dyes! Win win.
My mom actually gave this to him as a gift and it comes with this adorable board book. The book is called A Day At The Park With Meiya And Alvin. There are 2 toys you can buy-Alvin the elephant and Meiya the mouse. He uses this toy every single day. I highly recommend this life saving baby product.
3. White Noise Machine
I am so glad I decided to buy a white noise machine. I was never recommend one of these by friends or family, it was just something I kept seeing online and I figured I would try it out. It works so good for my son! I don’t have to tip toe around the house when my son is sleeping because the white noise machine muffles the sound outside of his room and helps keep him asleep. I use this every single night and I love it. Plus, you can take it on vacation or to grandma’s house and it will make your baby feel at home when they go to sleep. This is a must have for us. Check out my other blog post about travel tips with a baby!
Owning a swing when you have a baby is a must! It can be very hard to get anything done around the house (even take a shower) when you have a baby. My son wanted to be held constantly, which I can’t complain but if it wasn’t for this swing, I don’t know what I would have done.
This swing has 6 speeds, a timer, and plays music. It’s not as high tech as some of the other swings that I’ve seen but is paying $200 or more for a swing that your baby is only going to use for about a year realistic? For me, it’s not. The Ingenuity swing is great. It’s not bulky and easy to move around which is nice. I highly recommend this life saver baby product!
5. Backpack Diaper Bag
I really found the PERFECT diaper bag. It is a backpack so it’s easier to carry when I’m walking around holding baby. There are so many zippers and compartments for all of baby’s stuff and all of my stuff. It’s machine washable and stain resistant. It comes with a matching memory foam changing mat that fits in a zipper along the back of the bag. There is tons of storage space to fit everything we need and some amazing mommy pockets! There are a bunch of different shades to choose from. My favorite part is that it doesn’t look like a diaper bag. My boyfriend can use it without feeling like he’s carrying a purse. Best of all, we can still use this backpack after my son grows out of diapers. I am so happy I bought this bag.
You’ve made it to the end of my list. Yay! Aren’t those baby products great? Anything I can do to help my fellow new moms out there. What other products are you thinking about getting for your baby? Any experienced moms out there have any life saver products? I’d love to hear them!
